AGILEAUS HISTORY
Agile Australia (AgileAus) was founded in 2009 as an annual Conference. Since then, not only has the Conference itself grown to welcome over 1,200 delegates each year as well as high-profile speakers from around the country and the world, but AgileAus has also become much more than a Conference.
In 2012, AgileAus crossed the Tasman and founded Agile Encore in New Zealand. Reprising the highlights of the annual Conference, Agile Encore now takes place each year in an alternate Australian city. In 2017, the event expanded to Brisbane – as well as Sydney and Melbourne.
An essential element of AgileAus is its dedication to future building. To that end, AgileAus also launched a special student event, Activate Agile. This free event – run annually as part of the Conference – supports students interested in careers in tech. Secondary and tertiary students, along with their teachers, come along to hear from real technology professionals and make connections with the industry.
The platforms available for sharing exceptional Agile content have also expanded. AgileAus is home to the popular Agile Australia blog, and of course, the free quarterly printed magazine, AgileTODAY. AgileTODAY features articles from leading Australian and international influencers.
To support the learning of the Agile community, AgileAus Workshops and training offerings have also expanded. In addition to annual workshops held in conjunction with the Conference, AgileAus hosts standalone and bespoke workshops and training courses, from local specialists and visiting thought-leaders like Barry O’Reilly.
Also emerging from AgileAus are special events, like the unique event experience for high-level executives – The Deep Dive, an evening with robotics specialist Kate Darling, and the chance to meet New York Times best-selling author Brant Cooper.
AgileAus is managed by Slatterys and is dedicated to supporting Australia’s Agile community.
